Christmas 2020.
This one looks different—just like the rest of the year. But honestly, it was supposed to look different for us anyway, so it’s not a huge change.
No gifts under the tree (by choice). Actually, the tree was taken down and packed away last Thursday. I asked the kids what they wanted, and—like in previous years—they had to sit and think for a while before eventually saying they didn’t really want anything material. They already have laptops, phones, tablets, toys, video games—you name it.
Every year, the material things matter less and less.
We just want to keep traveling the world as much as possible, especially with everything going on.
So here we are: Christmas 2020.
New beginnings.
No material gifts to unwrap tomorrow—but a lifetime of travel, adventure, and exploration ahead.
I'm giving them cash to use as they please on things to do as we go.
Christmas may look a little different, but we’re together, we’re happy, and we’re living the life we’ve dreamed of.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
